Kingston KHX1600C9D3K4/16GX

Intel has released the newest processor for computer desktop. Process with code name Sandy Bridge-E supports main 4 canals memory, up 1 canal from previous Intel high end variant . As usual, main  memory manufacture  start to offers the match kit. One of them is Kingston KHX1600C9D3K4/16GX .

From Kingston. This kit consists of 4 strips DDR3  each has capacity 4GB and designed for run on 800MHz ( DDR3-1600).

So it can walk on 800MHz easily, Kingston offers its profile on Intel XMP ( Extreme Memory Profile ). When  this special profile is active. Kingston HyperX Genesis will run on 800MHz with timing 9-9-9-27 and working voltage that still “high”, 1.65V. If XMP not used , automatically  will run on 667MHz ( DDR3-1333 ) with timing 9-9-9-24 and working voltage 1.5 V – the standard voltage of DDR3.

From performance, beside big capacity, 4 main canals memory offers max theoretical bandwidth  bigger of 2 or 3 canals ( although practically not always ), So it’s normal if the performance is fast. When I tried to overclock, I get a lil bit higher from 866MHz with XMP voltage.
