Bootable USB Tool , Recovery Tools Based On USB




Making System Recovery Tools is not must on CD/DVD. Netbook users can use USB flash disk as system rescue. Of course this method isn’t easy as making System Repair on CD format. Yet, don’t be worry. With a little bit trick , you can make your own Bootable USB Tool , System Recovery based on USB. These are  the  instructions  :

1. Firstly to make Bootable USB Tool, plug your USB flash disk to USB port on your computer. Then make sure your important data on your flash disk have backed up because next step you will format it. Open Windows Explorer, right click on name of drive flash disk then choose format.

2. On next window, select system file with NTFS type and click Start to start the format process. Ignore other options, let it in default condition.

3. After formatting USB flash disk, click drive of flash disk. Right click mouse then choose New > Folder and give its name boot. Then make a folder again with its name sources.

4.Folder Recovery and Boot on drive C contains files which are used by Windows to do booting and repair system automatically. Folder Recovery on C:\Recovery to run System Recovery Tools and folder boot lie on C:\Windows\Boot is used to booting to Operating System. Both of folders are what you need to copy to your flash disk. Yet both of folders are set hidden by Windows so you’re not easily find them. Do these steps to show both of folders.

a. Open Windows Explorer. Click  menu  Organize > Folder and Search Options.

b. On Folder Options window, come into View tab.

c. Give tick sign in front  of  “ Show hidden files, folders and drive “ option.

d. Remove tick sign in front  of  “ Hide protected operating system files ( Recommended ) “ option .

e.Click Apply to active those settings.

5. Next step is , access Recovery folder on C:\Recovery. By default, the folder can’t be accessed. You should log in as Administrator to come inside. The alternative way is takeover access right of folder to your account with set it to “  Permission : Full control “.

6. If you’re success enter to Recovery folder, you will see a subfolder that made automatically by system using combination of letter and number with length 32 characters.  Name of folder is different between one computer and the others. Open the folder.

7. Now, copy boot.sdi from the folder on your computer to your folder on your folder that you’ve made on your  flash disk. Copy  winre file.  Wim  to sources folder on your flash disk. If copying is done, right click on the file , choose Rename then name it boot.wim

8. Next step, open C:\Windows\Boot\DVD\PCAT folder. Copy BCD file to boot folder on your USB flash disk. If it’s done, enter to C:Windows\Boot\DVD\PCAT\en-US folder. Copy bootfix.bin file on the folder to folder boot on your USB flash disk.



9. Last step, enter to C:\Windows\Boot\PCAT folder and copy bootmgr file to main directory on your USB flash disk. Later, USB flash disk will contain BCD, boot.sdi and bootfix.bin files in boot folder, one file boot.wim in sources folder, and one bootmgr file in main directory.

After you finish those steps above, now it’s time to try your own  Bootable USB Tool , System Recovery Tools USB  on computer. Restart your computer, then set your BIOS so it can boot with USB flash disk. If you did the instruction well, when boot to USB flash disk, you will see System Recovery Tools menu.
